Presentation

After the success of the first edition of the I Meeting for Students in Musicology and Young Musicologists, celebrated in May 2008 at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, ESMuC (Barcelona), the Jove Associació de Musicologia (JAM) [Young Assotiation of Musicology] and the students in musicology of the ESMuC appoint to the II Meeting for Students in Musicology and Young Musicologists for the next month of May 2009.

The general aim of this Meeting is to create a relation area among all the students in musicology from different places and countries and, therefore, to generate a communication net among them. As well as to offer the possibility to those musicologists still in formation or recently licensed to contact with the classical standard forms of a Meeting (papers, conferences, round tables). Besides, this year we add the consideration about the figure of the musicologist in both fields, musical and social.

The Meeting will focus in the discussion about the role a musicologist should assume in social and musical fields, as well as to define the different outlines a musicologist should adopt in relation to the environment.
